Hosted by the UA Theatre Program, the free event in Guzzetta Hall will feature a morning of theatre workshops that include physical and vocal exercises and design and technical theatre. The high school students and teachers will also participate in ensemble work led by UA professors, including designer Adel Migid and James Slowiak, recipient of the 2011 Outstanding Artist in Theatre award from the Akron Area Arts Alliance.

Following a break for lunch, the participants will attend a dynamic afternoon performance of William Shakespeare's comedy "As You Like It" and a post-show discussion with the cast. The UA adaptation, directed by Slowiak, explores the ambivalent conventions of gender, with two casts — one male and one female — performing in repertory. The female cast will perform the Nov. 9 matinee.

Throughout the day, the participants will have opportunities to talk with UA theatre students and professors.
