Guest Clinician Bios
Gregory Lewis, violin Praised for his “brilliant technique” (Chronicle Journal) and “wonderful musical personality” (Winnipeg Free Press), Canadian violinist Gregory Lewis enjoys an international career as a soloist and chamber musician. Since making his debut with Consortium Aurora Borealis at the age of fifteen, Lewis has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Winnipeg, Kitchener-Waterloo, Thunder Bay, TSM Festival, Colburn, and Strathcona symphony orchestras, among others. Named one of CBC’s “30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30”, Lewis received First Prize at the 2017 Canadian National Music Festival and was selected as a winner of the 2023 Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank Competition. In 2022, Lewis had the great privilege of joining the Callisto Quartet. He regularly performs alongside esteemed artists including Ettore Causa, Norman Fischer, Tai Murray, Tara Helen O'Connor, Marcy Rosen, and David Shifrin, as well as members of the Ariel, Brentano, Kronos, Orion, St. Lawrence, and Ysaye string quartets. Lewis holds degrees from Yale University and the Colburn School, where he studied with Ani Kavafian, Martin Beaver, and the Brentano Quartet. Lewis performs on the 1768 "Miller" Gennaro Gagliano, on generous loan by the Canada Council for the Arts.
Jonathan Mamora, piano Jonathan has performed throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia, and he has enjoyed remarkable recent success, winning first prize at numerous prominent international piano competitions (IPC’s), including: Hilton Head IPC; Scottish IPC; Concurs Internacional deMúsica Maria Canals Barcelona; Olga Kern IPC (New Mexico); AntwerPiano International Competition; Dallas IPC; and the Palm Springs IPC (formerly the Virginia Waring). In May 2025, he performed as one of 30 elite pianists invited to compete in the Van Cliburn Competition inFort Worth, TX. Jonathan values education as an important tool in music making. He previously taught piano and music theory/ear training for various institutions, including the Eastman School of Music and The Juilliard School, and has conducted master classes in North and South America, and Europe. He currently serves as Director of Keyboard Studies at La Sierra University in Riverside, CA. Jonathan Mamora is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Douglas Humpherys, whom he served as studio assistant. He received his Bachelor of Music from La Sierra University and his Master of Music from The Juilliard School. His previous piano teachers include Elvin Rodríguez and Hung-Kuan Chen.
Hannah Moses, cello Cellist Hannah Moses enjoys a vibrant career as both performer and educator. A Cleveland native, Moses holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where her teachers have included Richard Weiss, Melissa Kraut, and Norman Fischer. As the founding cellist of the Callisto Quartet, Moses enjoys an active concert schedule and has appeared at venues and festivals across the globe, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Heidelberg String Quartet Festival, and more. Callisto has garnered top prizes at many major international chamber music competitions, including Grand Prize at the 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, Second Prize at the 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition, and prizes at the Bordeaux, Melbourne, and Wigmore Hall Competitions. A committed educator, Moses assisted in creating a unique chamber music curriculum with the Callisto Quartet entitled “Chamber Music Deconstructed”, which has been successfully received in schools across the country. Moses is currently Cello Professor at the University of Akron and Kent State University, and is an active member of Northeast Ohio’s musical community, most recently having joined the board of the Cleveland Cello Society in 2025.
