The University sends advisories to encourage faculty and staff to take precautions and to submit any tips they may have. Previous advisories have prompted people to submit valuable tips that have led to arrests.
If you know anything about these incidents, call the University of Akron police at 330-972-2911 at any hour.
Submit a tip confidentially to police by texting it to 274637 (CRIMES) and beginning the message with the keyword ZIPTIP. You may also submit a tip confidentially online to provide more detailed information, including images. All the ways you can submit a tip confidentially.
The UA Police Department's Campus Patrol is available to escort you to and from your car to classrooms and labs at any hour. Call the service at 330-972-7263.

04/28/2024 | The non-student shot at the Circle K gas station at 770 E. Bucthel Ave sustained a non-life threatening wound to his arm.
04/28/2024 | A male was dropped off at City Hospital after being shot at the Circle K gas station at 770 E. Buchtel Ave. The suspect vehicle (Dodge Journey) fled away from campus. No students appear to be involved. APD is investigating the incident.
