Zips Fest

Zips Fest is the official pre-game destination for Zips fans. Featuring inflatable games, prizes, balloon art, face painting, photo opportunities, food options and live music, Zips Fest has something for Akron fans of all ages. All activities are located in Coleman Commons, between the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and the Student Union - in the shadow of InfoCision Stadium.
The party officially begins three hours prior to kickoff, and incorporates some great Akron traditions, including the football team's arrival and march to their locker room two hours before kickoff, as well as the band and cheerleaders marching through campus on their way to the stadium.
Zips Fest Game Day Schedule
- Parking lots open for tailgating: 4 hours prior to kickoff
- Zips Fest Opens: 3 hours prior to kickoff
- Zips Team March to the Stadium: 2 hours prior to kickoff
- InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field Gates Open: 1 hour, 30 minutes prior to kickoff
- Pep Rally with the Marching Band at Zips Fest: 1 hour prior to kickoff
- Zips Fest Closes: 30 minutes prior to kickoff
- Marching Band's pre-game performance at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field: 25 minutes prior to kickoff
- Zips football team takes the field: 5 minutes prior to kickoff
