The goal of our programs is to educate individuals about leadership as it relates to the development of self, understanding of others, and use in the various contexts that make up our day to day environments.

Everyone can be a Leader: Leadership 101

Whether you already hold a leadership position on campus or are just beginning to explore the idea of leadership, this workshop is for you. Join us as we explore how leadership is defined and put into practice. Leadership Programs believes that everyone is capable of leading, regardless of who you are. Come find out how you can use your personal strengths to become an effective leader!

Leading with a Purpose: Putting Your Values into Action

Knowing yourself is the foundation to being an effective leader. Join Leadership Programs as we help you explore your personal values and how you can incorporate them into your leadership style. Find out how harnessing your personal passions can make you a more dynamic and inspirational leader!

From Forming to Performing: Developing Team Cohesion

Working in teams is an inevitable part of leadership. Join Leadership Programs as we explore how to put a team together, what to expect as a team develops, and how to prepare for hurdles that can arise along the way.

You Don't Need a Title to be a Leader

Can you contribute to an organization without a title? Leadership Programs think so! Join us as we explore how you can be a good “citizen” of your organization and make positive contributions from every level. We’ll discuss how to deal with unexpected change, confusion, and how to make the best use of the resources and influence you have, no matter what position you’re in.

Can an introvert really be a good leader if they’re too quiet or if they don’t like large groups? Be the Change: An Introduction to Servant-Leadership

Followership

Our society has become very focused on leaders, but what about the followers? This workshop will explore the significance followers have in an organization and the powerful impact that have on their leaders. Join LeadAkron as we examine what bad followership looks like and how to be a good follower through discussion and interactive exercises. Whether you are in a leadership or followership role, this workshop covers crucial information that you need to know to create a successful team!

Women in Leadership

The labyrinth is the unpredictable maze of uncertainty that many women find themselves in when beginning their professional careers. Why do women face these obstacles when other demographics don’t? How can they persist over them? Come learn about women in powerful leadership roles across the world and they navigated the labyrinth so that you can do the same.

True Colors

True Colors: Understanding Yourself
True Colors™ is a model for understanding yourself and others based on your personality temperament. The colors of Orange, Green, Blue and Gold are used to differentiate the four central personality styles of True Colors.

Each of us has a combination of these True Colors that make up our personality spectrum, usually with one of the styles being the most dominant. Identifying your personality and the personalities of others using True Colors provides you with insights into different motivations, actions and communication approaches.

In this introductory workshop, you will identify your color spectrum based on your personality traits and learn how your True Colors affects your leadership style and approach to working with others.


Conflict Management

Students will gain an understanding of conflict resolution styles that they can apply to their work in student organizations and team settings. This workshop will introduce them to their own conflict resolution style and how they can work to resolve conflict better.

Teambuilding 101

Working in teams is inevitable and during this workshop students will learn about a variety of teambuilding exercises. This workshop will allow students to participate and help facilitate different teambuilding activities that they can use when working in a team setting.

Toybox Leadership Series

The Toybox Leadership Series is based on the book Toybox Leadership: Leadership Lessons from the toys you loved as a child, by Ron Hunger and Michael Waddell. This book discusses the lessons learned from toys, including army men, slinkies, etc, that can be applied to your everyday leadership.!

Stress Management

The sun will come out tomorrow! Stress is an unavoidable struggle to some, but an opportunity for leaders to challenge themselves and to grow as a result. Come discuss with us how to identify unique stressors, to proactively plan to mitigate them, and how to remedy them to avoid burnout!

Translating Your Leadership Experience

In the tough job-market recent college grads find themselves in, it’s important to articulate the leadership skills you’ve acquired through the LCP program. We’ll go over how learning theory translates to skills, how to enhance your resume, and how to set yourself up for success when the interview comes.

Leadership & Diversity

Building relationships going past basic networking is just one step into becoming great leaders. Join LeadAkron as we explore building connections with fellow individuals, creating respect between individuals, and the benefits of a mentor/mentee relationship to grow your leadership abilities.

Started from the Bottom: SMART Goals

This presentation talks about how organizations need to start with common goals to formulate a team environment. Students will learn how to create smart goals and how they differ from regular goals.

Blast from the Past: Leadership Theory

This presentation discusses three leadership theories: Servant Leadership, Transformational Leadership, and Tuckman’s Theory on Team Cohesion. Students will learn how to apply these leadership theories to their leadership roles, and how to incorporate them into their daily lives

Running Your 1st Meeting as a Student Leader

Did you just become a student leader? Have you never run a meeting? This program will teach you how to prepare to run your first meeting as a student leader. From preparing an agenda, to creating a Powerpoint, student leaders will leave this presentation feeling comfortable to lead that first meeting!
