The University of Akron Teams Up with the Cleveland Browns to Celebrate National Financial Literacy Month

Where Financial Literacy Meets the Gridiron

We are excited to welcome regional leaders in finance, banking, wealth management, and education to celebrate the start of National Financial Literacy Month on April 1, 2026, at the Cleveland Browns’ CrossCountry Mortgage Campus in Berea, Ohio. Financial literacy is essential at every stage of life, empowering individuals to make informed choices about saving, earning, budgeting, and investing. This event brings together distinguished educators, students, and community partners to highlight the importance of financial education across our region.

Proceeds from this event  support teacher scholarships and advance the Barker Center’s mission to strengthen economic and financial education across the region.

Registration for this exclusive event includes:

• Special access to the Browns’ training facility, including the team meeting room and indoor practice field
• Catered dinner and networking with educators, business leaders, and community partners
• Awards celebration recognizing outstanding K-12 financial and economic educators
• Featured speakers and interactive activities focused on personal finance and economic decision-making.

Celebration Itinerary

• 4:15 PM: VIP Speaker Event & Tour Check In (Main Entrance Check-In)

• 4:40 PM: Registration Opens for General Program Admission (Main Entrance Check-In)

• 5:00 PM: Start of General Program Admission w/ Opening Remarks Over Catered Dinner (in Lounge)

• 5:30 PM: Keynote Speaker & Presentation of 2026 Teacher Awards

• 6:15 PM: Financial Fun Passport Activities (in Indoor Field House)

• 7:00 PM: Conclusion

Limited Sponsorship Opportunities

A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available for this year's event. Some options include:

• GOLD Sponsorship — $5,000: Recognition during the event’s welcome remarks, 16 VIP tickets (private facilities tour before program + general program admission), an exhibitor table in the field house, & logo featured on event website and all promotional materials (pre-event and day-of)
• SILVER Sponsorship — $2,500: 8 VIP tickets (private facilities tour before program + general program admission), & logo displayed on event website and all promotional materials (pre-event and day-of)
• BRONZE Sponsorship — $500: 1 VIP ticket (private facilities tour before program + general program admission), & logo on all day-of printed materials

Limited Individual Ticketing Opportunities

A limited number of individual tickets will be available to partner institutions, area schools, and the general public. Proceeds from this event help support teacher scholarships and advance the Barker Center’s mission to strengthen economic and financial education across the region.

• General Admission Ticket — Includes special access to the Browns’ training facility, catered dinner, networking opportunities, awards celebration, and featured speakers and interactive activities in financial and economic education ($225).
• VIP Experience Ticket (Limited Number) — Elevate your evening with exclusive access behind the scenes Brown’s training complex tour, a private keynote reception, an event t-shirt, along with full access to the general program ($325).
