Biography

Alec Lytton was born and raised in Houston, Texas where he attended the Houston ballet Academy and graduated from Houston's High School for the Performing and visual Arts. Upon completion at the Academy he spent one season in the company before pursuing his B.F.A. from the Boston Conservatory. He moved to New York where he danced with the New York Theater ballet and spent three seasons dancing as a soloist with the New York Metropolitan Opera Ballet Company. Tiring of the weather he was offered a contract to dance with Company C contemporary Ballet in San Francisco where he spent five seasons, and the another four with the modern dance company Liss Fain dance. Alec has performed nationally and internationally doing works by Paul Taylor, Jose Limon, Martha Graham, Twyla Tharp, Ben Stevenson, Trey McIntyre, and Ohad Naharin. He is currently in his sixth-year teaching at the University of Akron where he has taught all levels of ballet and modern.
