Studying abroad can be an exciting and life changing experience for your son or daughter and it can be equally as exciting for you as a parent, while also bringing up some question and concerns about studying abroad. Below we have a number of resources to help you understand what your student will need to prepare and some of the aspects of studying and living abroad that they might experience.
International Health Insurance
All participants in UA-sponsored education abroad programs or university-sponsored international travel meeting the eligibility criteria below are required to purchase insurance through the International Center. Additional information can be found here.
Health and Safety Abroad
There are many resources available for you to be healthy and safe while you travel abroad. Be sure to talk to one of our professionals in our office for any concerns or questions. These resources are available through our Additional Resources page
UA Scholarships, Grants & Loans
Generally speaking, UA scholarships are only applicable to some UA Faculty-Led programs as well as Exchange Programs. Grants and Loans are usually also applicable to these programs. Typically, only grants and loans are applicable to Third-Party Affiliate Programs. Financial Aid options for Direct Enroll vary by location. Students are encouraged to contact the office of student financial aid for consultation once they have been admitted to a study abroad program.
Study Abroad Grants & Scholarships
There are many opportunities for scholarships and grants to help your student study abroad. Check out our Financial Aid page for a list of some of the scholarships available. We also encourage students to search for additional scholarships that may not be included in our list.
Included on our Financial Aid page are scholarship opportunities provided through Third-Party Affiliate Programs. So, if your student is traveling through one of our affiliates, be sure to look into those opportunities.
