Think Tank to Shark Tank: From Engineering to Entrepreneurship
Where: Bierce Library Maker Studio, room 61
Cost: $250 for one week; price includes all lunches, supplies, and camp t-shirt
Campers will experience the engineering process and then will use these to these skills and entrepreneurial concepts to plan and design a product that will be pitched to a panel of experts. Campers will be engaged in the needs assessment, research, product design, and marketing processes through fun, thoughtful, social experience. Engineering, economics, and teaching professionals will take participants through the concept to design to market process.
This camp is specifically designed to:
- Develop team dynamic skills through team projects
- Develop researching skills related to addressing a need and then bringing it to the market place
- Develop engineering and entrepreneurial skills through authentic experiences.

An Educator's Institute | Think Tank to Shark Tank: From Engineering to Entrepreneurship

The H.K. Barker Center for Economic Education at The University of Akron in partnership with the Urban STEM Center is pleased to invite local middle and high school educators to apply to participate in a five day "Think Tank to Shark Tank Teacher Training Institute" from July 22nd to 26th at The University of Akron main campus. A few spots have been reserved for area pre-service social studies majors enrolled at local universities and colleges.
Outside of receiving access to the entire "Think Tank to Shark Tank Curriculum" and expert faculty instruction on its implementation, participants that complete program requirements are awarded an honorarium ($400 stipend for teachers, $150 for university students).
