Biomedical Engineering in the Classroom

See how a secondary school’s engineering and health science programs have collaborated to offer a project-based course in Biomedical Engineering. Projects include orthopedic implants, heart valves, pumps, prosthetics and robotic surgery. Successes and struggles, as well as the project descriptions, rubrics and examples, will be shared.

Project Lead the Way:  Opportunities for integrating STEM concepts

Sam Appleby, Project Lead the Way Instructor, NIHF Stem High School

This session will address some of the more common questions associated with Project Lead the Way (PLTW).  Everything from “What is PLTW?” to “What does it take to get my school PLTW certified?” will be answered. The different pathways PLTW offers and their newest path, Computer Science, will be discussed.
