Dr. Bastidas is a core faculty member and corrosion expert at the National Center for Education and Research on Corrosion and Materials Performance. According to a study published by Stanford University in 2021, he was named as one of the world’s top contributors to their fields of science. He is also the recipient of the 2022 Corrosion Division Rusty Award for Mid-Career Excellence from The Electrochemical Society, and Outstanding Campus Advisor Award and Outstanding Faculty Engagement Award in 2022 from The University of Akron.
Dr. Bastidas is the UA trustee for the Association for Materials Protection and Performance as well as the faculty advisor of Corrosion Squad student organization. He has published 150+ articles on his research.
