Polymer science student accepted into ACS Summer School on Green Chemistry & Sustainable Energy
Polymer science student, Abdala Bashir has recently been accepted into the American Chemical Society (ACS) Summer School on Green Chemistry & Sustainable Energy, all expenses paid. The program will be held June 20-27, 2017 at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.
“I am very happy for Abdala, and very happy for us, because he will come home and teach us what he learned. Most importantly, he deserves this opportunity based on his past and present efforts, and his future career goals,” said Dr. Coleen Pugh, Polymer Science Chair.
The 2017 ACS Summer School on Green Chemistry & Sustainable Energy allows students to explore scientific solutions to global sustainability challenges, including sustainable energy. The curriculum includes presentations by experts in green chemistry and sustainable energy; poster sessions; collaborative projects; and discussions on the roles of science and technology in solving global sustainability challenges.
