Recently the UA Gamma Iota Sigma chapter won 1st place in the Ohio Insurance Institute's student video competition collecting $3,000 in prize money for the chapter. The four students that participated are all current officers in the chapter; Kyle Whyte (Co- President), Jeremy Brady (Co- President), Julia Kazar (Secretary) and, Sophia Marcum (Treasurer). The question to be answered for the video competition was "How do you feel about working from a home environment indefinitely as opposed to an office environment?" Students were limited to a 90 second video.

The event was hosted by the Ohio Insurance Institute a group whose mission is to act as the Ohio property and casualty insurance industry's voice on matters affecting or involving the industry. The competition was open to all Ohio colleges and universities who are Insuring Ohio Futures partner schools and/ or have a GIS chapter.

Jill Bisco, advisor to the UA chapter, had this to say about the event; "It's great to see the support of risk management and insurance education and the Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) chapters by the Ohio Insurance Institute. Once again it shows the strength of the industry in Ohio and the dedication of the risk management and insurance (RMI) program at The University of Akron. Our students are fantastic and continue to excel at RMI related competitions.'
