Bridging Pedagogy and Innovation: AI and Beyond

AI continues to revolutionize society, and its impact on education is profound. This conference will delve into the ways AI is transforming teaching and learning, offering insights into how educators can effectively incorporate AI to enhance student engagement, personalize learning experiences, and prepare students for a future where AI is omnipresent and impacting careers in dramatic ways.

We will explore the profound shifts in pedagogy prompted by AI, discuss the ethical implications of these technologies in educational settings, and identify opportunities to harness AI to improve the educational experience. Join us to engage in meaningful discussions, participate in workshops, and present insights on navigating and leveraging the evolving landscape of education shaped by AI and other changes in technology, modalities, partnerships, and regulations.

We invite you to submit a proposal about the ways you are bridging pedagogy and innovation in the classroom or on your campus. Presentations may address topics such as the impact of AI on lifelong learning, inclusive teaching, student belonging, community-engaged teaching, or assessment of student learning.

As you prepare your conference presentation proposal, consider these six questions:

1. Relevance to Theme: How does your presentation directly support student learning and engagement? Could you specify the tools, strategies, or methodologies you plan to discuss?
2. Impact on Student Success: How does your proposal explore ways to support student learning, success, and student engagement?
3. Innovation and Adaptability: In what ways does your presentation address the changing dynamics of teaching and learning in an era increasingly influenced by technology and AI?
4. Practical Insights: What practical insights or actionable takeaways will attendees gain from your presentation that they can implement to help students flourish and succeed?
5. Interactivity and Engagement: How will you engage the audience and foster meaningful discussions?
6. Future Orientations: What future trends, emerging issues or ethical considerations do you think are important for educators to be aware of, and how does your presentation help prepare them for these changes?

We invite you to submit a proposal along one of our topic areas for the NEXT Conference on November 1, 2024, at the University of Akron. Deadline to submit a proposal for consideration is June 15, 2024.
