The following courses can be taken during the final Summer Semester as needed:

  • 7700:695 Externship: Speech Language Pathology only required if not taken in a previous semester (6 credits)
  • 7700:696 Externship Seminar only required if not taken in a previous semester (1 credit)

Students are required to complete a total of five clinical practicum experiences; however, six semesters are allotted for their completion. Students will not have a clinical practicum during one of the semesters between semester three and eight unless there are special circumstances. 

Students must be registered for clinical practicum, medical externship, or school-based externship during any academic period in which they treat or evaluate clients under the supervision of a qualified speech-language pathologist.
