President’s Holiday Message

Congratulations to all of our students for making it through the fall semester and into the final exam period.  We all wish you an enjoyable holiday season, a great break, as well as a productive, healthy, happy, and rewarding New Year.

To the 1,400 graduate candidates upon whom we will confer degrees this weekend at commencement, you are giving yourself the greatest gift you will receive this holiday season. Your alma mater is deeply proud of you and looks forward to your successes in the months and years to come.  Your accomplishments and continuing support both fuel the overall success of the University and enhance the value of your degree.

To the alumni, retirees, friends and supporters who continue to stand by the University, on behalf of the UA family I want to personally thank you for your loyalty and generosity. Know that we are all working hard to serve our students, positively impact the community, and reward your trust. We wish you all a fine holiday season and prosperous new year.

As for our faculty, staff, and contract professionals, I cannot thank you enough for your support and hard work this year, as well as your devotion to our students, the University and our mission. I am grateful and humbled that the “season of peace and goodwill” came early in 2016.  May we continue to rally for our common cause. The pride and excellence within our university family give me confidence that we can take substantial steps forward during the upcoming year.

Please take a well-earned rest during the break, enjoy the celebrations of this holiday season, and return next year with a renewed spirit, fresh ideas and confidence in our future.

Happy holidays from my family to yours.
