Students’ Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How will my internship credit count toward my degree requirements?
A. The internship course will count toward your major as an elective or major requirement, depending on the major.
Q. How many hours per week will I have to work in my internship?
A. Students should work a minimum of 16 hours per week for a total of 240 hours. Accounting students must work 40 hours a week.
Q. How long will my internship last?
A. Typically, internships will last for an entire semester. Summer is the most common time for students to participate. However, an employer might extend an internship if they are pleased with the student’s performance.

A. No. Internship credit can be earned only during the semester the student is working.
Q. Is the summer the only time I can have an internship?
A. No, internships can be completed in the fall and spring semesters, too.
