Senior engineering students finish their engineering education with a capstone design project that challenges them to apply their technical and leadership skills to a project that presents a solution to an engineering problem. Capstone design builds on all the core technical topics they’ve learned and the skills they’ve developed as an engineer. Projects often address crucial industry, market or societal needs.

The experience culminates with a showcase event during which teams present their projects to peers, faculty, invited guests and members of industry. Students display working models and prototypes, answer questions about their projects, and compete for awards and prizes.

Please note: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the students presented their capstone projects online.
