Meet the Peer Leaders
"Stay organized and stay on top of your schedule. A challenging major can feel overwhelming at first, but keeping track of due dates and exams makes everything much more manageable."
"You're never alone; you just have to take the first step and ask for help. There's a community here ready to support you."
"Find your passion and your reason for becoming an engineer. When classes get difficult, that ‘why’ will push you through."
"Go beyond the degree—join research labs and design teams. Even if you're new to a field, the people here will help you learn and feel at home."
"Success comes from being specific about what you want. Engineering is seeing the world and your daydreams—and deciding what you can help improve."
"Get involved on campus. Balancing academics, work and social life is key to good mental health and academic success."
"Be prepared to be tested harder than ever. You'll be pushed to your limits—and that’s where real mental strength is built."
"Connect with upperclassmen, build friendships in your major, take advantage of extra credit, talk to professors, and always make time for yourself."
"Be involved! Joining academic and hobby-based organizations helps you build lasting connections that elevate your entire college experience."
"Stay curious, ask questions, and embrace challenges. Creative problem-solving is at the heart of engineering."
