Join us for a free reception celebrating five new student-designed exhibits and installations! Explore original art from students in the Myers School of Art, plus curated exhibits by students in the Museums & Archives Studies and Public Humanities Certificate Programs. Throughout the evening, visitors will also be treated to a series of short dance performances, presented by the Dance Institute.

Light refreshments will be offered during the event, and all attendees will receive free admission to the Institute galleries. Please RSVP by clicking the button below.


Exhibits and Installations

A Future In•Flux by Elyse Orosa examines nostalgia, a rapidly approaching future, and contemporary issues impacting this generation through Orosa’s original paintings.

Portable Artists explores the underappreciated artistry of handheld bags, spotlighting the original work of graphic designers, illustrators, fashion designers, or painters in the Lee L. Forman Collection of Bags. This exhibit was created by students in the Museums & Archives Studies Certificate Program.

Signed, (not) Sealed, Delivered presents a selection of postcards from the David P. Campbell Postcard Collection, connecting individual messages and experiences within a public, mass-produced medium. This exhibit was created by students in the Public Humanities Certificate Program.

Unsettling the Museum is a new installation from students in the Institute’s Unsettling the Museum [Un]Class. This installation explores the ongoing work of developing new museum content modeled after Indigenous methods, alongside contemporary art from the Oak Native American Collection.

Uprooted and Replanted by Naomi Torgler considers the artist’s identity as a Chinese adoptee living in the United States through realistic sculpture evoking plants and the natural world.
