Biography

James Marron has established himself through dynamic performances of the latest in contemporary music as well as insightful interpretations of the classics. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Marron has performed in Italy, France, Germany and throughout the United States. Marron's compositions have been included in a publication by Mel Bay entitled The Contemporary Guitar- An Anthology of New Music edited by Stanley Yates. As co-founder of Marronprater dance and music co., he has composed modern dance music that has been performed at such festivals as New Steps at the Ohio Theater at Play House Square, Food For Thought at Case Western Reserve University, The Colorado Dance Festival in Boulder, CO. and The American College Dance Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina. He participated in the David Dorfman Dance community project No Roles Barred in Boulder, CO. and in review of Marron's debut CD Spring Rising Classical Guitar magazine wrote that Guitarist James Marron's own pieces are impressively broad-ranging from spikily atonal, in the Winter Scenes, to lush and lyrical in For Suzanne. The disk also features premiere recordings of works by Roger Zahab, Nikola Resanovic and Ursula Mamlok. Marron is currently touring in promotion of his latest recording Six Poems for the Angels released this Winter. Radio appearances include Live at Hochstein WXXI Rochester, NY. and Not the Dead White Male Composer Series WCLV Cleveland, OH.
