Biography

Dr. Marlene Moses currently serves as Professor of Violin and Viola at the University of Akron School of Music. As well, Dr. Moses is Director of Chamber Studies at the Conservatory of Music @ Hudson Montessori School and also serves as Executive Director of the Western Reserve Suzuki School. Prior to holding these positions, Dr. Moses served as Artistic Director of the Western Reserve Chamber Festival and served on faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music Sato Center for Suzuki Studies as a violin and viola instructor. Dr. Moses has served as a chamber coach for the Chamber Music Connection in Columbus and has taught at various workshops, institutes and festivals around the country.  Dr. Moses is Past President of the Suzuki Association of Ohio and was a frequent presenter at the Suzuki Association of the Americas National Conference. 

As a performer, Dr. Moses is a member of the Cleveland Ballet Orchestra and regularly subs with the Canton Symphony and Akron Symphony.  In addition to orchestral playing, Dr. Moses performs in various chamber ensembles throughout Northeast Ohio. 

Dr. Moses resides in Stow, Ohio with her husband Greg.  Their oldest daughter, Hannah, is cellist of the Callisto Quartet which is currently the Fellowship Quartet in Residence at Yale University School of Music. Their youngest daughter, Aurelia, is pursuing a Ph.D. in Bio-Chemistry from the University of Maryland. Kitties Milo and Peanut enjoy the run of the house.
