Fall 2026 Flute Graduate Teaching Assistantships Now Open
Responsibilities
- Perform in the Lunaris Graduate Woodwind Quintet
- Perform in The University of Akron ensembles as assigned
- Assist with Studio Class and Flute Ensemble
- Teach supplemental flute lessons to undergraduate students
- Maintain and manage the flute studio schedule
- Participate in departmental and studio activities as required
Compensation & Benefits
- Tuition waiver
- Annual stipend of $10,000
- Opportunities for additional teaching and performing in the surrounding area

Audition Requirements
Applicants must prepare the following for the audition:
- All major and minor scales
- Three contrasting solo pieces from different musical genres (e.g., Baroque, French, and Contemporary)
- One virtuosic etude of the applicant’s choice
- Three contrasting orchestral excerpts
