  • Know Your Pour will provide information to the UA community in order to better understand how many units an alcoholic drink contains. This provides you with the knowledge regarding the strength of a beverage. For example, how many units is in a small glass of wine compared to a beer?
  • There are many factors that affect your Blood Alcohol Concentration including a person’s body type, gender, physical condition, medication taken, what you have had to eat, how much sleep you have had, and of course, your chosen drink.
  • Please join us in sharing the Alcohol Awareness Week Pledge. 
  • Understand the spread of COVID-19 when drinking. As the weather begins to change, gatherings are shifting from outdoors to indoors.
  • Did you know that over 100 drugs interact wine, beer, champagne and hard liquor? Information will be shared about the side effects and risks of mixing alcohol and drugs.
  • One easy way for you, your friends, and others to be safe on the road is to have a designated driver. Join us on Thursday to learn some tips and resources on how to get home safely.   
  • Campus Programs will wrap up the week with campus resources and 24/7 services provided in the Greater-Akron area. Students will also have the chance to test their knowledge about alcohol awareness and win a prize.

ZPN will be hosting their annual Mocktails event. This years theme is Disney and Pixar Characters. Student organizations will be submitting a video on how to make their mocktail based on a chosen character. Students will have the opportunity to watch these videos, learn a new recipe, and vote on their favorite video. The student organization with the most student votes will win the Student’s Choice Award, which is a $100 for their student organization.

This will be an entertaining event where attendees can socialize while learning more about the impact alcohol and other drugs have. Participants will be put into groups to browse the internet in a race to finish the hunt first learning more about alcohol awareness. The first group to finish will win a prize!
