Biography

Justin McHenry joined the Lebron James Family Foundation School of Education at the University of Akron as an Academic Adviser in March 2021. His own degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Master of Arts in Secondary Education. He taught for four years in secondary school environments. For two of those years, he worked with high schoolers in an intensive reading classroom, helping alleviate reading deficiencies for underperforming students. For the other two years, he taught as a Language Arts instructor in a seventh-grade classroom. Prior to joining the University of Akron, Justin gained five years of experience as an Academic Adviser, assisting undergraduate students in achieving their academic, personal, and professional goals.
