Preadmission Advising

Preadmission Advising for those entering the College of Education is available in Central Hower 303.  Hours are as follows:

  • MWF - 8:30 am - 4:00 pm by appointment only
  • TTh - 8:30 am - 4:00 pm walk-in advising

Enrollment Assistance

For assistance with enrollment, click on the appropriate link (below) and fill out the form. Students should only submit a request AFTER their enrollment appointment begins. Enrollment Dates (appointment) are listed in MyAkron. Requests submitted prior to the enrollment date will be discarded.

Stan Hywet to host professional development opportunity

1920s photos, Stan Hywet flyerThis summer, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens will offer a paid professional development opportunity for inservice and preservice social studies teachers.  The program is called Teaching with Primary Sources and will connect students with resources and tools available at the Library of Congress. 

The program will take place June 21-22 from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm and is limited to 15 UA students.  |  Download the flyer for more information

Runde's Room - This blog offers classroom ideas and resources for middle school teachers, especially in math, reading, and writing.  Written by an experienced middle school teacher.

Free Technology for Teachers - A blog that shares information about free resources teachers can use in their classrooms.  Contains links to Google tutorials, practical educational technology tips, iPad apps, and much more.  Written by a former social studies teacher and EduBlogs award winner.

Math Addicts Community - A Facebook page devoted to those who are addicted to math.  Sometimes thought-provoking, often funny, and always fun posts.

Teacher2Teacher - A community where you can connect to share resources, learn from one another, and solve the big problems that no one can solve alone. 

Brainy Miscellany - Facebook page full of fun, math brainteasers and other miscellanies.

Science Fix - A resource for middle school science teachers.  Written by an experienced science and technology teacher.  Contains videos of science experiments and a blog offering interesting science tidbits.

We Are Teachers - A unique forum for lesson plans, professional development resources, grants, contests, and hot topics for discussion among teachers.

Edutopia - A comprehensive website and online community that increases knowledge, sharing, and adoption of what works in K-12 education.  A George Lucas Educational Foundation.
