University of Akron College of Business names 2026-2027 Marketing Behavioral Research Fellows
The University of Akron College of Business announces that Dr. Alexa Fox and Dr. Yuri Martirosyan have been selected as the Department of Marketing's 2026-2027 Marketing Behavioral Research Fellows, recognizing their outstanding contributions to advancing marketing research and scholarship.
Now in its second year, the Marketing Behavioral Research Fellows program supports faculty pursuing impactful research that informs industry, enhances classroom learning and contributes to the broader marketing discipline.
Fox's research focuses on digital marketing, consumer behavior and children's online privacy, helping shape more responsible marketing practices and safer digital experiences.
“I am humbled to be a Marketing Behavioral Research Fellow for the 2026-2027 academic year,” said Fox, an associate professor of marketing. “Children's online protection is a key societal issue, and I look forward to exploring how parents, online services and policymakers can best focus on children's online privacy and safety, emphasizing implications for marketing and consumer well-being. I am grateful for this unique professional development opportunity provided through the Marketing Behavioral Research Fellowship.”
Martirosyan's research examines consumer behavior, artificial intelligence, virtual influencers and emerging technologies, providing insights into how consumers make decisions in an evolving marketplace.
“I am honored to be selected as a Marketing Behavioral Research Fellow,” said Martirosyan, an assistant professor of marketing. “This support will help advance my research on products with sentimental value and consumer decision-making, while contributing to my broader research program examining how consumers assign meaning and value to products, brands, and experiences. As a new UA faculty member, I am especially grateful for the department's support and excited to continue building a strong and impactful research agenda.”
"The fellows’ research demonstrates how academic scholarship extends far beyond the University — advancing knowledge, informing practice and enriching our classrooms by ensuring our students learn from faculty who are actively shaping the future of marketing," said Dr. Vanja Djuric-Zoric, chair of the Department of Marketing.
