Overview

The MBA at The University of Akron gives you two ways to advance your career without putting your life on hold. The 100% online MBA runs in back-to-back eight-week sessions, with one course at a time. It is ranked among the nation’s top 50 online MBA programs for 2027 by the Princeton Review. Prefer learning with your peers in person? Evening MBA courses meet one evening a week, combining in-person collaboration with online coursework.

Whichever format you choose, you’ll learn from the same AACSB-accredited faculty and follow the same curriculum, with coursework in analytics and information strategy, leadership, managerial finance, strategic marketing, operations and global business. Full-time students can finish in about one year, while most working professionals finish in about two years, attending part-time.

Admissions Requirements

The University of Akron Bulletin acts as a guide for degree requirements, however official requirements are established at the time of transfer and admission to the degree-granting college. Once enrolled, students should refer to the degree progress report which is definitive for graduation requirements.

The Akron Advantage

Online if your calendar is the constraint: asynchronous, eight-week sessions, one course at a time. Evening if the room is the point: one night a week with a cohort you will know by name. The degree, faculty and accreditation are identical.

“I took a lot of what I learned back to my job in corporate finance at Smucker, especially in terms of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.” Sachi Argabright, MBA.
