Overview
The Dance Program offers a minor in dance for 20-21 credits. The curriculum includes study in dance techniques, World Dance/Ballroom Dance, Dance Somatics, in addition to dance history and electives such as choreography and Learning Theory for Dance.

Innovative Relationship with Joffrey Ballet School New York
The University of Akron and the Joffrey Ballet School partner to immerse students in both professional dance and university academics. New York campus dancers train with Joffrey faculty while earning an online B.F.A. in Dance from UA. The Joffrey Akron Intensive offers a summer program at UA that combines dance technique with academic enrichment. During the school year, Joffrey choreographers work with UA dancers on new pieces and training.
