The University of Akron’s Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapter earned first place at the 2025 Ohio SHRM Games, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University.

The annual competition, generously supported by the Cleveland SHRM Foundation, brings together student teams from universities across the state to test their knowledge and skills in human resource management through real-world scenarios and case challenges. The event also offered students a chance to network with HR professionals, learn from peers, and gain valuable insights into the evolving field of human resources.

UA’s SHRM executive team comprised of Greyson Morris, Megan Valloric, Chloe Blick and Morgan Bucy, demonstrated strong collaboration, problem-solving and leadership to take home the top honor. The chapter is led by faculty advisor and professor of practice, Dr. Scott Bible.

The SHRM Games provide our students with a fantastic opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to practical HR challenges,” said department of management chair and professor, Dr. Erin Makarius. “I’m incredibly proud of how our team represented The University of Akron with professionalism, creativity and confidence.”
