Learn-to-swim levels 3-4

Your child learns to swim the front crawl and elementary backstroke, and is introduced to the scissors and dolphin kicks. Level 4 adds the breaststroke, butterfly, back crawl and sidestroke, and focuses on improving swimming stroke proficiency and swimming for longer distances.

Private lessons

Get one-on-one attention with one of our highly trained instructors. Private lessons are perfect for younger swimmers who are having a hard time integrating into group lessons, and for older swimmers looking for stroke refinement. These lessons are customized to a swimmer's needs, goals and confidence level.

  • Six 30-minute classes
  • One American Red Cross certified instructor
  • $100 for members; $120 for non-members

Semi-private lessons

Bring a friend and hop in! Two or three participants of similar skill levels work at the same time with one swim instructor. This is a great way to improve swimming ability quickly and efficiently together.

  • Six 30-minute classes
  • One American Red Cross certified instructor
  • $60 for members; $70 for non-members (price is per swimmer)

Please note that a minimum of two participants is needed to register. We do not offer any type of swimmer matching service.

Registration process

All private and semi-private lessons are scheduled between the instructor and participant. Lessons are permitted any time the Rec facility is open and lifeguard staff are present.

  1. Private swim lesson registration is currently closed, check back here in September for the request form
  2. Contact the Aquatics Manager directly or request private or semi-private swim lessons using our online form.
  3. Once an instructor has been assigned, you will be contacted to schedule the first lesson.
  4. Payment will be collected on the date of the first lesson before the lesson begins.
