Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Accounting at The University of Akron is an AACSB-accredited degree from a college with dual AACSB accreditation in business and accounting. More than a degree, it’s a chance to get experience in the profession before you graduate. Accounting majors earn paid internships averaging $28-33 per hour with firms and organizations including Deloitte, EY, BDO, Plante Moran, Cohen & Co., Huntington Bank, Goodyear and The J.M. Smucker Company—and those internships regularly lead to full-time offers. Alongside the financial and tax fundamentals, you’ll explore business analytics, artificial intelligence for accounting, forensic accounting and fraud analysis, and information systems security.
Accounting BS/MSA Combined Degree
Planning to become a CPA? And career preparation goes beyond the classroom. The School of Accountancy’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter is nationally recognized and award-winning, and every College of Business student completes the required Experience Guarantee professional development program before graduation.
