Minimum Coursework Needed for Admission to EAP Phase II:

  • 6 credits of English
  • 6 credits of Behavioral Science
    • 3750:100 Intro to Psychology (strongly recommended)
    • 3850:100 Intro to Sociology (strongly recommended)

  • 3100:112 Principles of Biology II
  • 3100:211 Genetics
  • 3650:261 Physics for Life Sciences I w/Lab (3650:291 also acceptable)
    • 3650:262 Physics for Life Sciences II w/Lab (strongly recommended)
  • 3150:151,152 Principles of Chemistry I w/Lab
  • 3150:153,154 Principles of Chemistry II w/Qualitative Analysis Lab
  • 3150:263,265 Organic Chemistry I w/Lab
  • 3150:264,266 Organic Chemistry II w/Lab
  • 3150:401 Biochemistry I

CLEP may not be used to satisfy any of the minimum requirements.

No grade lower than ‘C’ will be accepted.

Credit for Pass/Fail courses will not be accepted.

LECOM may accept AP credits if the student scores a four or five on the AP exam. When AP credits are accepted by LECOM, a replacement course applicable to the field of medicine or a course of similar academic rigor, if approved by the Phase I adviser, must be taken at The University of Akron.

Recommended majors include Biomedical Science, Biology, and Biochemistry.
