About
I am a two-time alumna of The University of Akron, earning both my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Education degree from The Ohio State University. I am a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist, with more than 20 years of nursing experience in critical care, acute stroke care, and nursing education.
As an educator, I believe learning is a lifelong journey and that the best nursing education extends beyond memorization to foster critical thinking, curiosity, and confidence. My teaching philosophy centers on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can safely challenge themselves, ask questions, and apply knowledge to real-world situations. I am passionate about helping students develop the skills, clinical judgment, and resilience needed for professional practice, and I find the greatest reward in witnessing those defining moments when learners discover their own potential and grow into compassionate, competent nurses.
