David Reese was named an Advisory Trustee in December 2023.

A resident of Copley, Reese serves as vice president – Off Highway at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, since March 2024 with the responsibility of leading the global Off Highway business. Previously, Reese served as vice president - Americas product development, a position he had held since January 2019. In this role, Reese was responsible for the development, technology and continuous improvement of all products in support of the Americas and Off Highway New Product Roadmaps.

Reese began his career at Goodyear in 1995 as a mechanical engineer. Since then, he has had a diverse career path, progressing through a number of positions with increasing levels of responsibility. While at Goodyear, he has worked in various engineering functions – including machine design, tire, automotive, customer – as well as roles in product marketing and operations.

A graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School, Reese earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Virginia Tech in 1994 and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Akron in 2003.

“My wife and I have always valued the importance of serving our local communities,” Reese said. “It is an honor to be included as part of the Board and I look forward to broadening my involvement with The University of Akron through service.”
