Biography

Clarence D. Meriweather is a Special Lecturer focused on the fundamentals of graphic theory, 2D Foundations, and design production. He has held this role since 2020.

A life-long Cleveland native, he has developed award-winning work for a wide range of B2C and B2B brands, industries, and channels in Northeast Ohio and beyond. He has a large portfolio of digital work, notably identity, book design, and periodical publishing. But he holds a special place in his heart for “traditional” marketing, including collateral, outdoor, and hand-drawn illustration. He keeps his illustration skills sharp by drawing caricatures, traveling across the country to attend about 12-20 events every year.

In addition to lecturing, Meriweather works full-time at a Cleveland-based printer, managing both the graphic design and production side of the shop.

From logos for Fortune 500 companies to B2B catalogs, he has spent the last 20+ years applying his inexhaustible creativity and curiosity to every project. His early creative inspirations include pop culture, MAD magazine, and comic books… but his greatest inspiration comes from his students, who demonstrate the art of the possible every semester.
