Student-athletes team up to support mental health

In support of Mental Health Awareness Week, Monday, Feb. 15, to Friday, Feb. 19, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has a variety of activities planned.

Here is the schedule:

Tuesday, Feb. 16: Thought of the Day: “Mental health is not a destination, but a process.”

  • Free T-shirts to the first 100 fans at the men's basketball game. There will also be photo opps with Zippy and a photo frame.
  • Twenty representatives from across campus will attend the MAC/NCAA Mental Health Summit in Cleveland.

Wednesday, Feb. 17: Thought of the Day “Others care for you”

  • Education/resources will be given to the students that stop by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee table in the Student Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a drawing to win a Mental Health T-shirt and photo opps with our photo frame.
  • T-shirts will be given to the first 100 fans at the women's basketball game. There will also be photo opps with Zippy and a photo frame.

Thursday, Feb. 18: Thought of the Day — “Mental Health is just as important as physical health”

  • Education/resources will be given to the students that stop by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee table in the Student Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a drawing to win a Mental Health T-shirt and photo opps with our photo frame.

Friday, Feb. 19: Thought of the Day — “Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.”

  • MAC-wide green shirt day! Wear green to support mental health awareness.

 

This T-shirt will be given away at events during Mental Health Awareness Week Feb. 15-19.
