Thomas E. Stevens has joined the faculty of Akron Law as a full-time assistant professor of law.
Prior to his appointment, Professor Stevens served as an assistant professor in the Department of Government and Paralegal Science Program at Eastern Kentucky University.
Previously, Professor Stevens was an equity member at Blackburn Domene & Burchett, a civil defense law firm in Louisville, Kentucky. As a litigator and trial attorney, he represented retailers, motor carriers, insurers, and small businesses in complex civil litigation. Professor Stevens is also a mediator, a third-party neutral who facilitates communication and negotiation between parties to resolve legal disputes.
Professor Stevens holds a B.A. in Government and Philosophy from Morehead State University and a J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He has received education and training as a mediator through Northwestern University and the Supreme Court of Ohio.
