Description: Drop off gently used professional clothing for women and men from March 1-22 to benefit Akron Urban League. This organization strives to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Summit County, Particularly African Americans, by advocating and facilitating programs that are economically and educationally transformational. Donations are accepted in the Center for Service and Leadership, located on the 1stFloor of the Jean Hower Taber Student Union (Suite 135).

Women’s History Month Online Scavenger Hunt

Description: Join Her Campus Akron in a fun, innovative celebration of women’s history during the first week of March. During the week leading up to International Women’s Day on March 8, Her Campus Akron will post a question to their Instagram Story each day that asks participants to search for the answer online. On Friday, March 8, participants will be asked to screenshot their answers from previous days and send them in to HC Akron’s Instagram account. Those who complete the week of questions will receive a giveaway prize!

Description: Join serveAkron a volunteer your time on Five Star Friday with the Battered Women’s Shelter. The Battered Women’s Shelter’s mission is to lead the community in the prevention of domestic abuse by providing emergency shelter, advocacy, and education throughout Summit and Medina Counties. Herstory: An Insider Tour of the National Museum of Psychology

Time: 6pm

Location: The National Museum of Psychology

Description: Women are often marginalized in traditional histories of science. In this insider’s tour, we will explore the National Museum of Psychology with a specific focus on “herstory.” We’ll share stories of how women were excluded from psychology, as well as how they changed and challenged the field.  Guided "herstory" tour begins at 6pm and is included with admission.  Museum admission rates are 50% off for the event. University of Akron students, faculty, and staff receive free admission with a valid ZipCard. The Museum is open until 8 pm, so come early or stay after to explore more on your own.
