We believe that research and education are key to meeting the challenges of material scarcity, corrosion, and climate change. We are confident you agree.

The symptoms of non-sustainability are everywhere; corrosion and materials degradation cost the U.S. $276 billion annually, concrete system life-cycles are too short, and our consumption of energy in the built world is astronomical.

For the 2021 NCCS we welcome recognized leaders from science, engineering, and construction to help us challenge old ideas and explore new paths to sustainability.

This year we are proud to have the following individuals present:

  • Simon Adamtey, Ph.D., Kent State University
  • Chris Bennett, CSI, iSCS, CDT, Bennett Build Construction Consulting
  • Heather Dylla, Ph.D., Federal Highway Administration
  • Thad Goodman, FCSI, National Gypsum, CSI Next President
  • Jeremy Gregory, Ph.D., Director of Sustainable Concrete, MiT
  • Manigandan Kannan, Ph.D., The University of Akron
  • Shadi Nazarian, Penn State Universtiy
  • Lameck Onsarigo, Ph.D., Kent State University
  • Milena Rangelov, Ph.D., Federal Highway Administration
  • Nick Safley, Kent State University
  • Whitney Seybold, Concrete Intelligence Agency
  • Rae Taylor, Ph.D., Ochre Consulting
  • Eric Traffie, Premier Concrete Construction

NCCS, hosted by NCERCAMP and with special partnerships with Kent State University and CSI Next, brings students, researchers, manufacturers, designers, and builders together to explore new ideas and directly support students and research. These efforts are worth supporting.
